Transformational change

About me

My name is Tanya Paget and when I’m asked what I do, I sometimes I say ‘I facilitate change’, but if I like the look of the person I’m talking to I paraphrase a coachee of mine and say, “I help people get shit done”.

I work across a number of areas helping people with change in their life, career and business worlds. It is rare that life and work sit neatly in tidy clean boxes. I work holistically and don’t approach the coaching relationship in a compartmental way.

I ask that we set up a focus and work together on achievable goals. Over time the focus and goals may evolve. Without a focus it is hard to make the progress and frankly have a clue what we are doing other than having a nice chat! I’m genuine and pragmatic, I’m thoughtful, but not woowoo. I will work to keep you accountable to your goals. I’ll do this with warmth, compassion, understanding and a little humor! I’m told I’m pretty good at the tough love thing.

“I had such a positive experience being coached by Tanya. I sought her help both on a personal level as well as hoping to develop my small, creative business. I had been in a lull, struggling to motivate myself and develop my brand. She encouraged me to discover the answers for myself by asking some really probing questions, it was amazing what we uncovered in just a few sessions, and the two months we were working together saw the biggest turnover of online sales in my business's history! Thank you so much Tanya, it was a pleasure to work with you and I highly recommend your services. “

Be ready for change

I work with you when you are ready for change, looking for a new path, need a sense of direction or want to tell a new story...

I work with people who have questions and are seeking answers. I work with people who might feel confused, dissatisfied or perhaps a little overwhelmed or frustrated with aspects of life and work.

I work with people who are searching for clarity, purpose, confidence, meaning, self-respect, acceptance, happiness and balance. I work with people who need to talk things through, to be truly listened to, who need a non-judgmental ear. I work with people who are considered high achieving or doing really well, by those around them, but inside perhaps have a different story.

I often work with people who work in the Creative Industries, as this is a sector I have lots of experience in. I also work with lots of entrepreneurs - I really ‘get’ the crazy juggling act of setting up and running and indie business! I also work with leaders who are trying to do things a little differently, I like to think of them as high flying rebel leaders, I’ve been there and want to help!

I also work with people who identify as being neuro-diverse but high functioning. I’m dyslexic and am part of the neuro-diverse community. I regularly work with clients who are Dyslexic and/or ADHD and I’ve worked with some high functioning autistic clients. I bring empathy and personal understanding to the extra challenges and the super-powers being neuro-diverse bring! And a non-linear pin-ball conversation doesn’t scare me, I know we’ll get to the right result in the end.

I help you think about your options and alternatives. I help you get the confidence and clarity on what to do next...

Before I had these sessions, I had no idea how to approach tasks in a critical manner, boiling it down to what the brick wall was. (I was) struggling with time management…  now it's more manageable by thinking about what it really is that's blocking me from moving forward. I thoroughly enjoyed our sessions, creative and independent businesses work differently… and Tanya's understanding of the Indie Biz world was evident in the way she approached my problems and talked them through. Tanya quickly worked out how to best approach difficult questions and recapped the end of sessions with a summary which I could easily digest without coming away having talked for an hour but still not knowing what action to take.”

Finding your path…

Reclaim your story…

What you will get from me…

  • Deep listening

  • Helpful questioning

  • Discovering choices

And a fundamental belief that;

“You are creative, resourceful and whole”.

Let’s work together to grow those qualities!

It is a funny old thing an ‘about page’ for a coach… what I offer is really not about me, it is about you. One of the things that you need most to know about me is that I have 1,000s of hours of experience of deep listening and coaching. I am not just someone who hears the words, but someone who notices all the other ways you are communicating with me.

The other thing that you need to know about me is that I’m good at asking the right questions. Questions that spark ideas, questions that open doors, questions that enlighten, questions that get you thinking and acting, sometimes questions that are a little challenging, questions that lead to the transformation you are seeking.

So how do you know I can do those things for you?

Really, the best answer is drop me a line and we can arrange a free 30 minute introductory consultation call. You can ask all the questions you need to ask about coaching, about my approach and is it right for you? You can get to know each other a little and both develop an understanding around how we interact and might work together.

I like helping people make the right decisions to move forward confidently. I promise it won’t be a salesy chat, that is very far from what lights me up. I like working with people who want to work with me and are ready for change, not tying people up into something that they aren’t really sure about. We have a chat and then if you want to proceed we look to book in your first coaching session.

If you don’t want to proceed after a chat, you have spent 30 minutes on some research, got some answers to your questions and have made a step toward what is right for you, which is all good as far as I’m concerned!

There are always choices…

A little more about me…

You are still reading, so you are still researching and seeking information on whether or not coaching is right for you and specifically coaching with me is right for you. So if you want a little more backstory about me…

I have 25 years experience working in the creative industries and education. I have worked in big organisations and managed large teams and I have worked in small startups, collective groups, as an entrepreneur and a free-lancer. I grew up working on market stalls and spent summers fruit picking, I’ve managed a bar, been part of a little record label, designed lots of stuff, run electronic club nights, worked in crime diversion, drawn stuff, made stuff, been wild, been sensible... and mentored, coached and taught many amazing adults and young people.

Walking has always been a positive tool for me to think and talk things through, while getting the benefits of being outside.

I left home at 17, I’ve lived in big cities and loved their energy and diversity and I’ve lived in very remote, rural corners of the world and know I need open spaces and green stuff in my life to keep sane, but also I need the life and inspiration of the city.  In 2021 I took the plunge and relocated from near London to near Elgin in the North East of Scotland. I can be in London in an hour and 15min from my local airport. I enjoy having the best bits of both these worlds.

Walking has always been a positive tool for me to think and talk things through, while getting the benefits of being outside. I share this love in my walking coaching sessions, using walking, talking and nature as a way to get clarity.

I’ve interviewed and employed and worked with lots of people. I have significant leadership experience over many years, enjoyed lots of leadership training including accelerated leadership programmes and having a Level 5 Award in Leadership and Management from the ILM. I have worked with large and small teams, often in difficult change situations. There isn’t much that will get me to raise an eyebrow! I’m a creative problem solver and highly motivated by helping people move forward in the right way for them. I became an NLP practitioner 12 years ago, have used it when in leadership roles and currently use NLP approaches in my coaching. In 2019/20 I trained and qualified as an ANIMAS transformational coach and enjoy how this broader approach compliments my NLP training.

In 2020 I co-founded a leadership coaching collective with Christos Papaioannou called Positive Change Agents. We are a group of trained transformational coaches and came together to use our experience to make a difference to organisations and leaders that want to make a positive change.

I’m proud that people I worked with as a coach, mentor, creative, educator and as a manager seek me out years later and tell me how I helped them…

I’m proud that people I worked with as a coach, mentor, creative, educator and as a leader seek me out years later and tell me how I helped them with my questions or ask for further advice. This is what lights me up, empowering people, helping people be the authentic wonderful humans that they are. I’ve not always picked the easy road to travel and have done a lot of learning along the way (yes, that means made loads of mistakes!). I’m a high functioning dyslexic and identify as being neuro-diverse, I like working with others from that community - I very much get the additional challenges and super-powers it brings. I’m old enough to know how daft I am, and to quite like that person. I prefer a straight talking approach sprinkled with a bit of humor to get things done.

…the simple sequence of three dots indicating that there is more to come, that this story has not yet ended, became a powerful piece of punctuation for me!

The ellipsis (...) symbol became an important concept to me about 15 years ago. I was going through some quite significant personal change and the simple sequence of three dots indicating that there is more to come, that this story has not yet ended, became a powerful piece of punctuation for me! It is a symbol or graphical shorthand for so very much, it speaks of unchartered infinite possibilities and seemed perfect as a way of summarising what I want to do as a coach for you… to help you reclaim your story...
